The inspiration for "September Snow" was found in the rugged and sometimes harsh terrain of the Owyhee mountain range located south of the Treasure Valley, just beyond the powerful flow of the Snake River where heards of wild horses still run free today. Weather conditions can change almost instantly in the Owyhee range, as is the case with this group of horses caught almost off guard by an unexpected "September Snow".
